Privacy Policy

Sunset has no account system, no analytics, and no advertising trackers. Nothing is sold.

Location

With your permission, the app takes one approximate location fix when it opens. The coordinates are rounded to about a kilometre and sent to the Open-Meteo weather service (open-meteo.com) to fetch the cloud forecast for your area and a point about 80 km to the west. The app also uses them to look up a town name on your device. Your coordinates are stored only in the app's shared container so the Home Screen widget can refresh the forecast, and they are never sent anywhere else. There is no background location tracking.

Weather data

Forecasts come from Open-Meteo, an open weather API. The request carries rounded coordinates and nothing that identifies you. Open-Meteo's own privacy terms apply to that request.

Notifications

Sunset alerts are scheduled on your device from the downloaded forecast. No push server is involved.

Purchases

Sun+ purchases are handled by Apple and by RevenueCat, which validates receipts. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app-generated identifier and the purchase record, and nothing about your location or alerts. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.

Changes

Changes to this policy are posted on this page with a new effective date.
