Recharge: Recovery Time

A workout recovery time app for the Apple Watch you already own.

Finish a qualifying workout and Recharge starts a training-load countdown. When it runs out, the estimate is complete. That is the whole app, a focused answer after an activity, built on Apple Health. No ring, no strap, no second hardware ecosystem to subscribe to.

Built for hybrid training

Most recovery apps run one universal number. Recharge runs a separate curve for each kind of session, because an hour under a barbell and an hour on the bike do not cost the same thing.

Endurance

Run, ride, row, swim. Heart-rate-reserve load from your workout heart rate.

Strength

Wrist heart rate is unreliable under grip and bar contact, so Recharge asks you one question instead of guessing.

Mixed

Hybrid circuits. Both systems taxed, so the longest window.

Easy

Walks, yoga, mobility. Active recovery that never starts or extends a countdown.

On your watch face

Four complication families (circular, rectangular, inline, and corner) in the style you pick: the hours countdown, the estimated ready time, or just the state.

Honest by design

Private

Recharge reads from Apple Health and writes nothing back. Your workouts, heart data, and answers stay on your devices. No account, no sign-in, and no Recharge server. Apple and RevenueCat handle purchases and entitlement status.

Workout recovery time FAQ

Is there a workout recovery time app for Apple Watch?

Yes. Recharge starts a training-load countdown after every qualifying workout recorded in Apple Health, and shows it on your iPhone and Apple Watch with watch complications.

Can I get a recovery time countdown on Apple Watch without a ring or strap?

Yes. Recharge works from Apple Health workout data and the Apple Watch you already own, so there is no ring, no strap, and no second hardware ecosystem to subscribe to.

How does Recharge estimate recovery time after a workout?

It uses a separate curve for each kind of session: endurance, strength, mixed, and easy. Endurance sessions use heart-rate-reserve load from your workout heart rate, strength sessions ask you one question because wrist heart rate is unreliable under a bar, and easy sessions like walks or yoga never start or extend a countdown.

How long should I rest between workouts?

There is no single answer, so Recharge shows a window in hours based on your recent workout load, along with which session set it and how confident the estimate is. When a countdown ends it asks how you actually felt and tunes your own bands from your answer.

Does Recharge have Apple Watch complications?

Yes. There is an Apple Watch app and complications in circular, rectangular, inline, and corner families, in the style you pick: the hours countdown, the estimated ready time, or just the state.

Is Recharge free, and does it need an account?

The standard estimate, the Apple Watch app, and all four complication families are free, and no account or sign-in is needed. Recharge+ is an optional upgrade that builds estimates from your own history, with prices shown in the app before you buy and varying by region.

Is my workout and heart data private?

Yes. Recharge reads selected Apple Health data and writes nothing back, and your workouts, heart data, and answers stay on your devices. There is no Recharge server.

Is Recharge medical advice?

No. Recharge gives a cardiovascular training estimate based on your recent workout load. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition and it cannot tell you whether you are physically fit to train, since muscle soreness, illness, and mental fatigue are different things.
