Privacy Policy

Daylight keeps your records on your devices and in Apple Health. There is no account system, nothing is sold, and there are no advertising trackers.

Health data

With your permission, the app reads Time in Daylight, sleep analysis, step count, Apple exercise time, active energy, resting heart rate, heart-rate variability, and respiratory rate from Apple Health. It never writes to Apple Health. Time in Daylight is used for today's total, history, trends, sources, widgets, and Watch complications. The other types are used only for the Daylight+ Personal Daylight Model, which checks which recorded signals line up with daylight in your own history. Missing records are not treated as zero.

Health data and model results are processed on your device. They are not sent to a server, RevenueCat, analytics services, advertisers, or data brokers. They are not sold or used for advertising or marketing.

Location

With your permission, the app takes an approximate location fix and uses it to calculate sunrise and sunset on your device. The calculation is arithmetic performed locally; there is no lookup service and no network request. Your coordinates are stored in the app's shared container so the widgets and the Watch complication can compute the same times, and they are never transmitted. There is no background location tracking, and the app works without location using an approximate default position, which it labels as such.

Data stored on device

The app stores your daily target, appearance and reminder settings, excluded Health sources, cached daily totals, and the last known coordinates on your devices and in the app's shared container. Apple may synchronize eligible device and Health data according to your iCloud and Health settings.

Purchases

Apple processes purchases. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user identifier, product identifiers, entitlement status, and purchase events so the app can provide Daylight+ access. RevenueCat does not receive Health data or your location.

Notifications

If enabled, the reminder before your daily deadline is scheduled locally on your device. Its content is generated on device from your own figures.

Data deletion

You can revoke Health and Location access in Settings and remove all local app data by deleting the app. Health samples belong to Apple Health and can be managed there. Purchase records remain subject to Apple's policies.
