Total Calories is a personal health tracking app that displays your daily calories burned and step count. Your privacy is fundamental to how this app is built.
Total Calories does not collect, transmit, or share any of your data.
Total Calories requests read-only access to the following HealthKit data types:
This data is read from Apple Health and displayed within the app. Total Calories never writes to or modifies your health records. HealthKit data is processed entirely on your device and is used solely to display your health metrics and track progress toward your goals.
Your health data is never used for advertising, marketing, data mining, or any purpose other than improving your personal health management within the app. Your health data is never shared with third parties.
You can revoke Total Calories' access to your health data at any time by going to Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices > Total Calories and turning off all permissions.
Total Calories stores a local cache of your daily health summaries on your device using SwiftData. This cache enables widgets and complications to display your data. This data never leaves your device.
Your preferences (goals, display settings, appearance) are stored locally in UserDefaults on your device.
Total Calories offers a CSV export feature for your historical data. When you export, the file is generated locally on your device and shared only through the method you choose (AirDrop, email, etc.). Total Calories does not retain a copy of exported files. Exported files contain sensitive health information — please share them securely.
All data remains on your device until you delete the app. Deleting Total Calories removes all locally stored data. No data persists on any external server because no data is ever transmitted externally.
To delete your data, you can either uninstall the app (which removes all stored data) or revoke HealthKit access in Settings to stop all data reading. No additional request is needed since no data exists outside your device.
Total Calories does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app does not collect any information from any user.
